Josh Dubovie Is the UK's Big Eurovision 2010 Hope

If the UK doesn't win the Eurovision Song Contest this year it's not for lack of throwing big names into the mix. This year's song "That Sounds Good To Me" was written by 2/3 of the famed Stock Aitken Waterman songwriting and production team that is credited with shepherding more than 100 top 40 pop hits in the UK. The song written by Mike Stock and Pete Waterman will be sung by 19 year old Josh Dubovie.... [read the full article]

UK Eurovision hopefuls to be judged by Pete Waterman and former entrant Jade Ewen

LAST year's Eurovision hopeful Jade Ewen is to help judge acts vying to sing for the UK in 2010.

Four solo singers, one all-girl trio and a five-piece group will perform live for the chance to compete at the Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo, Norway, this May.

UK Eurovision contenders revealed

The BBC has revealed the six acts who will face the public vote in a bid to become this year's UK Eurovision entry.

The Eurovision hopefuls, including four solo acts and two groups, will perform live in front of a panel of judges in Your Country Needs You! on 12 March.

Hitmaker Pete Waterman, who is writing and producing this year's Eurovision entry, will lead the panel of judges.

"We've got the song and we've got six acts - now all we're waiting for is the public," said Waterman.

Waterman will work on the UK entry with fellow music producer Mike Stock, who together formed part of the highly-successful 80s recording trio Stock Aitken Waterman, which launched the career of Kylie Minogue, among others.

"If any man can second guess European musical tastes surely that man is Pete Waterman," said Eurovision host Graham Norton, who will present next week's deciding show.

Your Country Needs You 2010: The contestants

Six acts compete for the honour of representing the UK at this year's Eurovision Song Contest.

Can they impress a specially selected panel - including Pete Waterman, last year's UK entrant Jade Ewen and performance-judge supremo Bruno Tonoli. More importantly, will they win your vote?

Eurovision 2009 - Norway - Points: 387 - Place: 1st - "Fairytale" by Alexander Rybak

It will not be easy for Stock and Waterman to write a song of the level of last year winner, the incredible "Fairytale" performed by Alexander Rybak, but I hope for their production.

I can tell you what happened in Italy at the Festival of San Remo, the Italian most important music TV show: there were about 20 songs competing for victory but raised the top two boys who participated in two major Italian talent show "X-Factor " and "Amici" (friends). They have beaten very famous singers in Italy.

I want to say thatt I greatly appreciated Sonia and I think she's a very good singer. But I think England needs new faces.

I think it's really difficoult to write songs so exciting.

As Alexander said in an interview, it took 5, 6 months to prepare a 3 minute presentation for the Eurovision Song Contest. I greatly appreciated the Scooch, but the song "Flying the flag" is definitely lower than that of Alexander and they reached the 22nd position in 2007. We are no longer in the era of the 80s, people want a more complicated mix of incredients to send a song on stage winner.

Alexander came from norwegian Idol Tv Show.

Alexander Rybak FairyTale Lyrics:

Years ago, when I was younger
I kinda liked, a girl I knew
She was mine, and we were sweethearts
That was then, but then it's true.

[Chorus:]
I'm in love, with a fairytale
even though it hurts,
cause I don't care if I lose my mind
I'm already cursed

Every day, we started fighting
Every night, we fell in love
[ Find more Lyrics on http://mp3lyrics.org/byue ]
no one else could make me sadder
but no one else could lift me high above

I don't know what I was doing
when suddenly we fell apart
nowadays I cannot find her,
but when I do we'll get a brand new start

[Chorus:]
I'm in love, with a fairytale
even though it hurts,
cause I don't care if I lose my mind
I'm already cursed

She's a fairytale, yeah
even though it hurts
cause I don't care if I lose my mind
I'm already cursed

The italian translation of the song "Fairytale"

Anni fa, quando ero più giovane,
Più gentile, ho conosciuto una ragazza
Lei e stata mia e noi eravamo anime gemelle
Questo era allora, ma era vero
Sono innamorato di una favola
Anche se fa male è uguale
Perché non me ne frega niente se perdo la mia mente,
Sono già maledetto.

Ogni giorno litigavamo
Ogni sera ci amavamo
Nessun altro avrebbe potuto rattristirmi
