Local indie acts not in spotlight

... The charismatic Rick Astley continued to exude the same sex appeal as he did way back in 1987 with his chart-topping Never Gonna Give You Up written and produced by the legendary Stock Aitken Waterman. Twenty years and a few kilos later, it’s a friendly and charming Astley that returned to Singapore. And the crowd truly adored him....

Pete Waterman: Cutting a different track

Source: Exec Digital UK: Better known as a pop music impresario, Pete Waterman speaks to Exec about skills shortages, a life-changing brush with the law, and his lifelong passion – British railways

Having introduced the world to Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan, Rick Astley, Steps and a number of other pop music acts who seemed to specialise in infernally catchy (and hugely successful) ditties – and created a multi-million pound empire along the way – there can be no doubting Pete Waterman’s business ability. Lorella Cuccarini - Magic 1989: she's an italian dancer, singer and tv presenter, she wasn't produced by Stock, Aitken, Waterman but this song called "Magic" has a sound very similar to S.A.W. productions and here she is!

Italian version, "La notte vola":

Rick Astley interview

We’re never gonna give him up: The real Rick Astley takes Manila by storm
By Paul John Caña, Contributor

For a few days last week...

THE HITMAN AND HER: NOTTINGHAM, BLACK ORCHID

The singer is Michaela Strachan and the title of the song is "Take Good Care Of My Heart":

SONIA EVANS & BIG FUN: YOU'VE GOT A FRIEND + INTERVIEW

It's always difficoult to find good friends who appreciate you, I remember this 90's song produced by Stock, Aitken & Waterman and I liked. It reachead the 14° position on U.K. charts in Jun 1990.

Spagna, Only Words

It isn't a Stock, Aitken, Waterman production. She's Ivana Spagna, my favourite italian singer. This video is under the real rain, and the song "Only Words" needs a view!

I remember very well this song. I liked it very much, it's Dance, come on, let's dance with Ivana Spagna and her "Why me"!

Also this remake is really nice with her wonderful voice:

Mandy in Italy, remembering the eighties

When Mandy Smith came in Italy in 1987 I was 14.
