Kakko performs "We Should be Dancing" on Motormouth

Kakko From Wikipedia: the free encyclopedia is one of the pseudonyms of Yamagata Kakuko (former name Suzuki Kakuko), a Japanese actress, TV presenter and former pop singer. Yamagata was born September 23, 1969 in Osaka, Japan. Under the name "Kakko", she was on the roster of Stock Aitken Waterman but met with little success in the UK charts.

Yamagata attended an American school in Kobe and aged 17 was spotted by a scout from CBS records. She moved to the UK to attend a music school in London before coming to the attention of producers Stock Aitken and Waterman.

Her first single, the Stock/Aitken/Waterman penned "We Should Be Dancing", was released in February 1990 reaching number 101 in the UK charts, while her second release, "What Kind Of Fool" (written by Harding/Curnow/Clift), didn't manage to get a chart rating.

She returned to Japan in 1991 and commenced working under the stage-name Suzuki Anju. She has become a popular actress in TV dramas and features in many commercials.

Kakko "What Kind of Fool" Interview

Review from by Darian:
Released in 1990, this sparkling PWL production written and produced by Phil Harding and Ian Curnow/Clift could have passed for a song written and produced by Stock Aitken & Waterman. The 12 inch mix has all the elements of SAW with the vocal samples and various instruments building toward the chorus music. Shame it is a short 6 minutes or so but well worth hunting down. The B-side "I Pledge You My Heart" is nice as well.
